This pumpkin pie cocktail makes for a great start to a dinner party, a drinks after work gathering, or heck, why not whip up a few and sip ’em at home.
It’s a whole lot easier to accomplish than a scratch pumpkin pie!
This drink goes well with my squash soup, and the pair come together well for one rich, flavorful dinner during the cold winter season. Mitch Harris created this recipe just for us here at Celebrations.com for the holiday season. I worked with Mitch on a show on TLC called “Battle of the Wedding Planners,” on which he mixed many an inventive libation.
Ingredients
1 1/2 ounces vodka 1 ounce Cointreau 2 ounces pumpkin flavored syrup 1 ounce fresh cream (To lighten up the drink you can use whole milk in lieu of cream)
Directions
Add all ingredients to an ice filled martini shaker, and shake vigorously to chill and incorporate all the flavors.
Serve in a chilled martini glass rimmed with crushed graham cracker crumbs. To rim the glass, dip the martini glass onto a plate with some of the pumpkin syrup and then onto a plate containing the crushed graham cracker crumbs. The syrup will help the crumbs adhere to the rim of the martini glass. Top off with a nice dollop of fresh whipped cream, just like a homemade pie.
